Donauturm

Opened in 1964, the Donauturm reaches 827 feet (252 metres) into the sky. A landmark of modern Vienna, the tower provides traditional warmth and hospitality in its restaurants.

Built of steel and concrete, this structure weights 17,000 tonnes and covers an area of 900 square feet at ground level. The Donauturm offers a beautiful panorama over Vienna's past and present , to the Lower Alps and the Hungarian Lowlands, a unique view of the site of the city and of the hilly surroundings.

In only 35 seconds, two express elevators can transport you to a height of 165 metres, straight to the two rotating panorama restaurants at heights of 160 and 170 metres. Each restaurant seats 130 people, and at a height of 150 metres you can experience the fascinating view from the open observation terrace.
