Cairo Tower
The Cairo Tower was inaugurated in 1961, by the late president Gamal Abdel Nasser and it underwent a complete refurbishment and reopened in 2009. A landmark in Egypt, a masterpiece of structural art and construction of classic antiquity that is illuminated in different shades of colors in the evening. It is situated at the Gezira Island (Zamalek), a tall building 187 meters and in shape an imitation of a lotus plant, with the river Nile flowing serenely beside. At the very top is the panorama with telescopes, an open air experience of Cairo where one can enjoy a breath taking view of the pyramids of Giza, Sakkara and also the museum, the Citadel and the entire city.
