Membership of the World Federation of Great Towers
The World Federation of Great Towers was founded in 1989 and now has over 35 international members. The Federation exists to showcase the great towers of the world and celebrate the astonishing feats of architecture and engineering that created them.
The Federation also exists to help develop local and international opportunities for its member towers to promote themselves and to encourage networking, idea sharing and fruitful partnerships between the great towers of the world. In isolation each towers is monumental. Together as an association they stand even taller.
Key benefits of membership
Professional networking and support: The Federation offers members opportunities to share technical, marketing and business expertise in their niche industry as well as sharing ideas on best practice and industry benchmarking to enhance each member’s operational success. Develop new skills, grow fruitful business relationships, consult and collaborate with other experts in your field. The Federation also offers formal coaching and mentoring arrangements and a staff exchange program between member towers.
Promotional opportunities and partnerships: Representing a group of tourist attractions that welcome over 40 million visitors a year gives the Federation considerable negotiating power when it comes to business and promotional opportunities. All our members benefit.
Communication and education: The Federation carries out PR initiatives to promote its members and is in regular communication with key service providers to their member network to find out what is new and important. We regularly communicate important news and business opportunities to our members through our newsletter and at our Annual Conference. All our members also gain valuable international exposure through this website, which is a widely recognized as an authoritative source of information on the great towers.
Community, environmental and charitable collaborations: Federation members have collaborated internationally on environmental and community outreach programs, as well as charity events. Our global reach means these initiatives receive significant attention.
Annual Conference: This annual event is free to all members, and features guest experts in areas of interest to our members as well as presentations from our members. We share information, case studies and ideas to help our members succeed further.
Privileged access to revenue generating ideas: Our member towers are constantly launching new initiatives. Some of these are very successful in generating more revenue and in our collaborative, non competitive environment members share such ideas and strategies freely to the benefit of all.
VIP Passes: Each Federation member tower is granted 100 VIP passes a year. These covetable passes entitle the holder to free admission to all member towers.
Global recognition through our Annual Awards: Our Annual Awards celebrate all that is great and astonishing about our incredible member towers. It’s a wonderful opportunity for networking.

Criteria for membership
Membership of the Federation is limited to structures which fulfill the following criteria:
- They must be towers
- They must be a notable tourism attraction
- They must have an observation or viewing deck open to the public
- Each tower must have unique attributes, for example their height, historical significance or special features
Our commitment to our members
The World Federation of Great Towers has a commitment to develop international awareness of the organization and our members through the following objectives:
- The exchange of ideas and information to improve management and international promotion.
- The sharing of technical information about the construction of the towers.
- The international promotion of events which generate enjoyment and culture exchange, using towers as a focus.
Our members’ commitment to us
The World Federation of Great Towers meets annually to decide on the following year’s activities and formulate a marketing plan for the year. Members must attend the annual meeting at least once every three years. Membership of the Federation is by annual subscription of US$1,500.
